Applications Now Open for the Government Trailblazer Programme

02 November 2018

The first stage of the application process is now open for the Government Trailblazer programme. Local authorities that are looking to take bold, innovative action, to address Child Obesity have until 30th November to express their interest.

Up to 12 local authorities will be supported to develop practical plans, and in spring next year 5 authorities will be selected. During the 3 years of the programme, they will be given expert advice to help realise their plans, as well as £100,000 per year in funding to support this.

Successful approaches to reducing childhood obesity will be considered for shaping national policy.

We have recently published a toolkit 'Good Policy for Good Food' which includes local authority policy levers on tackling diet-related ill health and creating healthier environments.
