Durham becomes world's second Sustainable Fish City

04 July 2016

Food Durham has successfully coordinated the local Sustainable Fish City campaign earning the city the title of second Sustainable Fish City in the world. After Bournemouth and Poole, Durham is the second city to have secured pledges from the Local Authority, schools, hospitals, universities, workplaces, restaurants and iconic businesses to serve only sustainably sourced fish. This represents an astonishing twelve and a half million meals per year and the majority of fish served out of home.

It is an amazing achievement from the Durham food partnership, coordinated by Liz Charles. Huge congratulations to all!
