New Food Power programme - tackling food poverty through people-powered change

29 August 2017

Food Power is a new four-year UK-wide programme run by Sustain and Church Action on Poverty funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The programme will support communities to develop responses to food poverty with the support of their peers from other communities across the UK.

Food Power will provide support for alliance development and responses to food poverty and its root causes, give voice to people experiencing food poverty, as well as evaluate and share what works well. Peer mentors from food poverty alliances will directly support other food poverty alliances. Financial support will be available at different points in the programme for alliance development, annual thematic priorities, engaging experts by experience and evaluation. The first round of support for alliance development will open in early September.

See here for further information about the programme, to sign up to the newsletter and register your alliance. If your alliance or network is not ready to register yet, the team would be happy to offer advice on next steps. Contact Simon Shaw, Sustain simon@sustainweb.org
