Sustainable Food Cities Annual Conference 2015

Our buzzing 24h conference saw 57 cities from across the UK and Europe gather together in Bristol to discuss key issues such as food poverty and government  policy and to share ideas and experiences. The event was also a great opportunity to showcase and celebrate achievements, with the announcement of the first ever Sustainable Food Cities Awards. An inspiring event for inspired cities.

Putting Good Food at the Heart of Cities: an evening celebration hosted by Bristol, the European Green Capital

Monday 16 March, 6pm–10pm

The evening included brief presentations showcasing Bristol Good Food and the European Food in Urban Communities programme, as well as the announcement of the first four Sustainable Food Cities Award winners Brighton and Hove, Cardiff, Lambeth and Plymouth. A unique opportunity to share and learn from food pioneers from across the UK and Europe.

Good Food for All: from tackling immediate crises to designing long term solutions

Tuesday 17 March, 9am–5pm 

A day of inspiring innovation, problem solving and knowledge sharing. Invitees attended panel debates on long term solutions to food poverty and how to transform food culture at scale; plus a wide range of workshops, from building a thriving sustainable food economy to choosing indicators for measuring success.

Speakers include: Rosie Boycott, Helen Browning OBE, Professor Elizabeth Dowler and Tristram Stuart.
