Cambridge and Hull launch year-long Veg Cities Campaigns

A pop-up kitchen installed by the Hull Food Partnership in King Edward Square to cook and offer delicious pumpkin soup marks the start of a year-long campaign to encourage people to eat more vegetables. The event was supported by the Hull City Council Healthy Lifestyles Team, Rooted in Hull, and Timebank Hull and East Riding, to remind people to eat their pumpkins following Halloween carving. Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF) kicked off a year-long campaign with presence at Queen Edith’s Share Fair and Madingley Food Fair engaging with hundreds of people through games, discussion, recipes, informative and eye-catching displays and veg cakes and snacks. Over the coming months CSF is planning various activities to encourage residents, especially those on low income, to cook and eat more vegetables. More info
